Jelena has over 20 years of extensive legal experience in corporate law, M&A and other commercial transactions in the region. She has worked on structured asset acquisitions, share deals and corporate restructurings in Serbia and Slovenia. Client-wise and industry-wise, she has in particular worked with venture capital funds and private equity as investors in diverse industries, in particular in the IT sector, and with financial institutions on cross border loans and non-performing loan recoveries. Her broad legal background and understanding of different legal fields make her a trusted legal advisor with hands-on approach to the work.
Before joining BDK Advokati, Jelena worked in a top-tier regional law firm from Austria, in their Ljubljana and Belgrade offices. For a period of nine years before joining BDK Advokati, she was partner in a law firm based in Belgrade which she founded.
Jelena is a member of the Serbian Bar Association.
She received her law degree from Belgrade University and holds LL.M. degrees from McGill University in Montreal and Central European University in Budapest.
Jelena is fluent in Serbian, English and Slovene, and has a working knowledge of German.
